Personnel Management

This unit provides personnel services for the Civil Service arm of be Ministry. Responsibilities indude:

  • Recommendations to the Office of the Services Commission for recruitment of staff, appointments (temporary, permanent, and acting), leave for the purpose of study, transfers, secondment, separation from the Service, resignation, termination of employment, pension
  • Interviewing of suitable candidates to fill vacancies
  • Assisting in the development of an organizational structure that carries out effectively the Ministry’s mandate
  • Maintenance of personnel and administration records
  • Maintenance of a computerised Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS)
  • Dissemination of information regarding conditions of service
  • Processing of pensions particulars
  • Constant liaison with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Office of the Prime Minister and other ministries and departments are essential.
