Industrial Relations
The promotion of harmony at the workplace both within the school system and the Ministry’s civil service system is the mandate of this unit.
Responsibilities include:
- Liasing with all parties to bring about prompt settlement of industrial disputes
- Participating in negotiations of salary claims
- Circulating to relevant persons the agreement of claims
- Ensuring that all items of the heads of agreements are implemented
- Taking preventive action to avert industrial action where possible
- Liaison with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and the Attorney General’s Department is essential.
