STUDENT ASSESSMENT UNIT

 

KEY DUTIES

  • Direct and control the test development and Administration of nine (9) National Assessment Programmes to approximately 300,000 students and to approximately 12,000 School Leavers.
  • Develop criteria and ensure that proper procedure are in place for test development and or selection and test administration (including test security).
  • Direct the scoring and analysis of test papers and the generation of data for reports.
  • Collaborate with the Core Curriculum Unit in the development of the assessment component of the syllabus for the different subject areas.
  • Perform liaison function with several governmental and non-governmental organizations on behalf of the Ministry with a view to designing appropriate and flexible methods of Student Assessment.
  • Develop the budget for the Unit and control the relevant expenditure.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Trained Teachers’ Diploma.
  • A First Degree (with testing and measurement component).
  • Post graduate training in Management would be an asset.
  • Five (5) years teaching experience
  • At least five (5) years experience in education administration, educational testing, measurements and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of and experience in educational administration, management, theory and practice.
